Lunch & Learn
Joins us at the Bateman Horne Center to celebrate the 5-year anniversary of Lunch & Learn! This will be hosted by Lunch & Learn founder, Diane Sorensen, who will lead a conversation on where we’ve been and where we are going. In 2014 Diane paved the way to connect the local ME/CFS/FM community, generating a network of supportive friendships that transcends the isolation of illness. If dietary restrictions apply, please feel comfortable bringing your own lunch.
Join the BHC community on the third Thursday of every month at 11:30 am. Share friendship and food while discussing an interesting illness-related topic. Whether you have or know a loved one with ME/CFS or FM, we welcome anyone who is hungry to learn more about these diseases.
These events are welcoming and meaningful for those that have been isolated by illness. Consider bringing a family member to help them better understand life with a chronic illness in a judgement-free setting.
Lucinda Bateman, MD, is a renowned clinician, researcher, and educator. Her Johns Hopkins University Medical School training instilled an approach to care that she has employed throughout her career – the patient comes first and the unknown or unexplained does not equate to a lack of proper and compassionate care. Since starting her own practice in 2000, she has served on six boards or committees, been the principal investigator for 45 studies, authored/coauthored 40 journal articles, served as adjunct instructor and adjunct assistant professor in the University of Utah Departments of Preventative Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Anesthesiology, and lectured around the world.
