“Coffee” with a Clinician: Basics of Long COVID, ME/CFS, & Comorbidities

How were the clinical definitions of ME/CFS and Long COVID developed, and why do they matter?
There is no single test to diagnose ME/CFS or Long COVID which means that clinicians and researchers must use established clinical diagnostic criteria to communicate, guide care, and decide who to include in studies.
In this session, we will talk about how ME/CFS and Long COVID definitions were developed, what they were designed to do, and why understanding their purpose matters for patients, clinicians, and research.
(This presentation and related conversation will cover sections 2.1 through 2.4 (pages 7-9) of the Clinical Care Guide. Sections 2.5 Assessment and Diagnosis, and 2.6 Management Strategy Overview will be presented on Wed, Feb 11.)

- Lucinda Bateman, MD Presents the ME/CFS Definition (15-min)
