Medical Director, Provider
Douglas Jones, MD, FAAAAI, FACAAI is a board-certified allergist-immunologist, clinical investigator, and Medical Director at the Bateman Horne Center of Excellence. He is also Co-Founder and President of the Food Allergy Support Team (FAST), a nonprofit organization focused on advancing evidence-based innovative food allergy diagnostics and treatment implementation among allergists/immunologists.
Dr. Jones received his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine, followed by residency training in internal medicine and fellowship training in allergy, asthma, and immunology at Creighton University Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.
His clinical and research work has focused on complex immune-mediated, autonomic, inflammatory, and post-infectious conditions, including mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), hereditary angioedema, primary immunodeficiency, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), Long COVID, asthma, and post-vaccination syndromes. As a principal investigator, he has participated in clinical trials involving immunologic and inflammatory disorders, including mastocytosis, Sjögren’s syndrome, hereditary angioedema, and Long COVID-related conditions.
Dr. Jones is known for advancing immunotherapy in food allergy care and for publishing the first diagnostic algorithm for a subtype of hereditary angioedema. His current work includes clinical characterization of patients with Long COVID and post-acute COVID-19 vaccination syndrome (PACVS), with emphasis on mast cell activation phenotypes, autonomic dysfunction, neuroimmune interactions, and multisystem inflammatory presentations.
He lectures nationally and internationally on complex immune disorders, food allergy, mast cell disease, and post-viral chronic illness, and he is actively involved in collaborative efforts aimed at improving the recognition, phenotyping, and research infrastructure surrounding PACVS and related chronic immune-mediated conditions.
Dr. Jones has been recognized with numerous honors, including Top 100 Doctor, the Hereditary Angioedema Allies Award, Most Compassionate Doctor, America’s Top Physicians, the Patient’s Choice Award, and Best of Utah Body & Mind #1 Allergist. He was recognized by the Governor of Utah for his national and international contributions to food allergy care, immune deficiency disorders, and Long Covid.

Lucinda Bateman, MD, is a renowned clinician, researcher, and educator. Her Johns Hopkins University Medical School training instilled an approach to care that she has employed throughout her career – the patient comes first and the unknown or unexplained does not equate to a lack of proper and compassionate care. Since starting her own practice in 2000, she has served on six boards or committees, been the principal investigator for 45 studies, authored/coauthored 40 journal articles, served as adjunct instructor and adjunct assistant professor in the University of Utah Departments of Preventative Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Anesthesiology, and lectured around the world.
