Informed Medical ProvidersBHC Strategies for Bringing Doctors up to Speed on ME/CFS and FM

  •  presented by Lucinda Bateman, MD, BHC Founder and Medical Director

Improving the way medical providers understand, diagnose, and treat ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia is critical to progress and  a primary focus of the Bateman Horne Center. At the August 2nd BHC Education Meeting, Dr. Bateman shared her vision and BHC strategies for empowering  doctors to make the right diagnoses and provide first-class care, which will dramatically accelerate research progress.

Cindy Bateman

Dr. Bateman completed her BS and MS at Brigham Young University (BYU), attended the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, returned to the University of Utah for Internal Medicine residency, and became certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1991. She started a small private group practice in 1991 and practiced General Internal Medicine until 2000, when she founded the Fatigue Consultation Clinic.

Dr. Bateman has evaluated and followed more than a thousand patients with chronic fatigue conditions. She is an important thought leader who is committed to and engaged in efforts that inform and empower patients, educate medical providers, and foster cooperative research efforts aimed at understanding the cause(s) of and developing treatments for ME/CFS and FM. The Bateman Horne Center was formed in 2015, merging the non-profit patient education organization, O.F.F.E.R., and her clinic into one powerful organization squarely focused  on bringing ME/CFS and FM into the mainstream and ensuring first-class care to all those impacted by these diseases.

In all she does, she honors her sister’s memory and gives thanks to her for helping her understand the tremendous unmet need that exists in the patient community.

________

The Bateman Horne Center holds monthly education meetings on the first Wednesday of each month. Patients and other interested parties that reside in the Salt Lake City area are invited to attend in person at the new BHC Education Center (located at 24 South 1100 East, Suite 205, Salt Lake City, UT), meet others and engage in a live Q&A.

For those outside of the area, all of the sessions are streamed live on Facebook, then later housed on our YouTube channel, making them available to all. There is no need to register and the events – livestream or in person attendance – are always free. The link never changes:
